About 40 minutes ago there was an extreme temperature difference measured in the small country of the Netherlands.
In the north, on Vlieland (one of the Frisian Islands), the mercury reached 1.3°C (approx. 34.3°F).
In the south, in the town of Ell, a temperature of -20.4°C (approx. -4.7°F) was measured.
This is a difference of 21.7 degrees Celcius (39 degrees Fahrenheit). Quite extreme if you consider the Netherlands measures only about 320 kms (200 miles) north-south!
