I received the following from a Norwegian bank this morning:
Dear Sir,
Due to a punctual strike in a limited group of saving banks the rest of norwegian banks/bankers will be lock-outed.
The concequenses are that all bank branches/offices will be closed and all ATMs and cashpoints will be deactivated.
We recommend to change to NOK in your own country covering at least two days suppy of cash.
The date these conflicts will be started is on june 12th.
NOT good news for anyone planning to visit Norway in the coming days (and of course for all the residents of Norway…)
It means that the ONLY way you can pay in Norway during this is with cash, and only with cash obtained before the strike starts…
(I’m glad I live near the Swedish border so I can do some shopping there with my credit card…)
Luckily the Norwegian government interfered and this strike never happened… 😎
