- Marianne Timmer – Speed skating, Ladies’ 1000 m
- Bob de Jong – Speed skating, Men 10000 m
SILVER:
- Renate Groenewold – Speed skating, Ladies’ 3000 m
- Sven Kramer – Speed skating, Men 5000 m
BRONZE:
- Sven Kramer, Rintje Ritsma, Carl Verheijen, Mark Tuitert & Erben Wennemars – Men’s Team Pursuit
- Erben Wennemars – Speed skating, Men 1000 m
- Ireen Wüst – Speed skating, Ladies’ 1500 m
- Carl Verheijen – Speed skating, Men 10000 m
And a special mention of a gold medal for Swiss Daniela Meuli (perhaps a distant relative?) which she got on her snowboard for the Ladies’ Parallel Giant Slalom.
A total of 9 medals for the Netherlands this year. Not bad, in my opinion… 😎
NB: In contrary to the information mentioned on this page for several years, Ellen Irene has chosen not to pursue a carreer in snowboarding, and is therefor not part of the 2006 Norwegian Olympic Snowboarding team… 😉
