Yes, the time is almost there. Stargate: Continuum, the 2nd direct-to-DVD movie in the Stargate series is scheduled for release on July 29th, 2008.
Through the grapevine I’ve heard some tidbits about this movie. First of all the plot (yes, blatantly copy/paste from the Wikipedia):
While SG-1 attends a Tok’ra extraction ceremony for Ba’al, the last of the Goa’uld System Lords, Teal’c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what’s happened, hundreds of Goa’uld motherships arrive in orbit, led by Ba’al, his queen Qetesh (Vala), and his first prime, Teal’c. The remaining SG-1 members must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa’uld.
And thanks to time travel and an alternate reality there is plenty of opportunity for a massacre of main characters: Daniel first loses his leg, and then his life. Furthermore Teal’C, Jack, Vala & Sam all get killed in the process.
This movie is dedicated to Leading Operator Mechanic Paul McCann and Operator Maintainer (Weapons Submariner) 2 Anthony Huntrod who lost their lives during an accident under the ice cap on the HMS Tireless at the time of filming. This accident is not in any way related to the movie though.
The movie is not dedicated to Don S. Davis. Don Sinclair Davis passed away on June 29th, a month before the release of this movie (making it his last appearance). The cause of death was reported to be a massive heart attack. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Davis’s family requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
I can hardly wait until the movie will be available here! 🙂
