HTML status code 418 (“I’m a teapot”). What does it mean?

HTML status code 418, “I’m a teapot”, is definitely the odd one out in the list of status codes listed in the Wikipedia.

The status code was defined back in 1998, as an April Fools’ joke of the IETF, in RFC 2324, Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol.

The RFC specifies this code should be returned by tea pots requested to brew coffee.

Some websites, like Google, have it implemented as an easter egg.
