Memira – Going for it! :-)

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have been considering getting rid of my glasses by means of refractive eye surgery.

Here in Norway there are several providers of this service, and I have decided to go for Memira.
Earlier today I made an appointment for an initial check and if I happen to be part of the 80% who get approved then I get scheduled for ‘surgery’ and it will be phasers on stun, zap! zap!, and for the first time in more than 25 years I’ll be walking the streets without the need for any glasses! 🙂

  1. But you won´t get rid of your glasses for the rest of your life, I hope you know that, but I think so as they shpuld have told you. When you get older, you won´t be able to read little letters, so you´ll need glasses for that.

    1. True… But they will help me out a bit here: while one of my eyes will go to 0, they will leave the other eye at about -0.50. This ‘trick’ will help me remain without reading glasses for a few extra years, if all goes right. 🙂

  2. Me too, I was thinking about the surgery as well, however, I won’t unless my eyes were just too bad. I still can read without my spectacles although would be great not to have to take them with me everywhere I go. Permanent change is permanent isn’t it?. I wish you all the best with this anyway. a

      1. 🙂 I see. I am trying to avoid putting them on as much as I can. Not in movies, not for the first of 20 minutes when reading a book etc. When I drive at night I must have them on, otherwise the lights and light colors give me eye-ache. I have just a slight astigmatism as well, also could be corrected, apparently, I was told.
