The last couple of months I’ve been keeping an eye on developments in the smartphone market and there’s one thing I do not understand… Why is it so hard to design a decent smartphone? There are many models on today’s market which have nice features, but the ideal smartphone is still nowhere to be found… Every time a phone comes close, there’s something wrong with it…

Examples of close-but-no-sigar would be the HTC Touch Cruise and the Glofiish X800. The Touch Cruise is a nice phone full of features and connectivity, but it has serious problems with its graphics drivers. The X800 has a nice VGA screen, but not the CPU-power to stream 640×480 video on it, it seems…

The smartphone which is currently closest to my ideal smartphone is the… Nokia N82(!), but only if it had a 3″ screen, and preferably a touch screen…
(VGA resolution would be nice as well…)

Well, who knows…? Maybe one/more nice models will be introduced on the Mobile World Congress (3GSM) in february…

The Glofiish V900 is one of the models which may or may not be introduced on this congress. It looks promising… However, so did the X800… until people reviewed it’s video playback at 640×480…
