A comedy of biblical proportions, according to the tagline. And it truly is. IMHO it is a lot better than Bruce Almighty, and I think Steve ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin‘ Carell is the perfect person to play Noah. Also in the movie, both to increase the babe-factor and to create some emotional moments, we have Lauren ‘Gilmore Girl‘ Graham. (Don’t get me wrong here… I absolutely loathe the series, but I do like the looks of LG! )

Back to the movie though… The movie is a good family movie. Newly elected to Congress, Evan leaves Buffalo behind and shepherds his family to suburban northern Virginia. Once there, his life gets turned upside-down when God appears and mysteriously commands him to build an ark. But his befuddled family just can’t decide whether Evan is having an extraordinary mid-life crisis or is truly onto something of Biblical proportions…

And for anyone who wonders… Yes, they did build a full size ark for this movie: 135 meters long, 22.5 meters wide and 13.5 meters high!
